Local author explores ways of growing the economy with his third book

For the past 15 years, the author has researched and written about the Vertigo era to the fourth industrial revolution, township industrialisation and the balanced state-of-emotions, entrepreneurship and leadership development.

Puftontein resident Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has recently published his third book titled Inside the Township Storm (the philosophy of survival), which explores numerous ways of growing the economy.

He said the book is driven by the desire to inspire a new, forward-thinking breed of social and economic transformers who will not only reclaim and grow the economy but also transform the local population from being consumers into producers by simplifying and connecting the fourth industrial revolution and township industrialisation.

“I have researched and written extensively about a need to embrace the fourth industrial revolution, the township industrialisation and philosophy as a way to mobilise hearts and minds in the fight against poverty, unemployment, lack of business opportunities and the subsequent social challenges,” said Mkhwanazi.

“The post-Covid-19 era will require more of an economic intervention and policy change to remedy the economic hardships endured by the society. Surviving the pandemic calls for a new collective approach because hope alone is not enough.”

The book was published in July.

The author said the book employs the most interesting parables and metaphors to convey a message of hope and action. It explores numerous ways of growing the economy and rebuilding our lives from the little that is left in our hands because surviving is about overcoming the worst in life.
