Local equestrian wins South African Championships

Local rider and owner of Sunny Park Stables Nicola Sime-Riley and her Belgian stallion, Insaghi DB, took part in the SA Adult Showjumping Championships in Brits from August 4 to 8.

They brought home the overall win.

“We were the only double clear in the competition,” she said.

“This is one of the most prestigious competitions. The horse and rider have to jumbo two full rounds, with the second round’s jumps being placed higher.

“I am incredibly thrilled to have won because it really is such an amazing title to win.”

Both are in Shongweni for a World Cup Qualifier Show, holding tightly onto their hope of achieving another win.
