Women’s Day Golf Clinic hones skills of possible future stars

The word 'golf' is not an acronym for anything. Rather, it derives linguistically from the Dutch word kolf or kolve meaning quite simply club.

The Benoni Lake Club held a Women’s Day Golf Clinic this past Women’s Day where the professional golfers spent an hour and a half teaching the basics of golf to a couple of women.

This included myself, Jemma Pringle, BCT journalist.

Learning all the basics from beginning to end, we started with stretching and warming up, getting our muscles loose before starting with pitching.

The five of us lined up and began putting the knowledge we just learnt into action, from our poses, to follow-throughs, all the way to putting.

A great experience was had by all women who joined on the day, ending off with a warm cup of coffee.

Stay tuned to the City Times as the Benoni Lake Club takes Jemma Pringle and Chantelle Fick on a 12-week golfing journey. So keep up with the progress each week.

Date to still be specified.
