Man nabbed for drugs in Actonville

Police recovered 42 packets of Cat, 71 packets of crystal meth and six particles of rock with an estimated street value of R20 000.

A 36-year-old was arrested for being in possession of and dealing in drugs on August 12 in Pillay Street, Actonville.

Actonville SAPS spokesperson Sgt Godin Nyathi said the crime prevention members were patrolling when they noticed a suspicious-looking man.

“Police stopped him and asked to search him. They found a plastic containing a white substance suspected to be Cat and R150 in cash,” said Nyathi.

“They then proceeded to his place of residence. As they entered, the man quickly grabbed a plastic bag that contained drugs and rushed to the toilet to hide it. One of the police officers saw him and he pulled the plastic bag out of the toilet chamber.”

Police recovered 42 packets of Cat, 71 packets of crystal meth and six particles of rock with an estimated street value of R20 000.

The arresting officers were Sgt Clerance Motimela, Sgt Kgabo Ntshodisang, Sgt Naume Lekgothoane and Sandie Khoza.

The man is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
