Grief continues to overwhelm us daily as we lose distinguished members of our community to the rapidly spreading third wave.

We sadly lost Aziz Ally, the principal of Pioneer Primary School. His life story is one of admiration.

He achieved his dreams and aspirations and set ablaze a path of enlightenment for all who knew him. He was a beacon in the darkness and hope that gave learners courage and strength to lead their lives.

The community of Actonville will sorely miss the best educator we had ever been blessed with. Ally was an absolute timeless icon.

He had command of his school and had control of every learner’s attention span. His teaching credentials put him in a league of his own.

His unmatched level of kindness, a truly loving spirit and intellectual prowess instilled a measure of confidence in those who he guided in a glittering educational career.

Ally epitomised the richness of humanity and enveloped every situation with class and charm. His caring demeanour and leadership will remain unparalleled in our geographical neighbourhood; he was a fiercely dedicated principal and a tremendous taskmaster.

Many were blessed for being under his tutelage as principal. His unwavering focus on goals and meticulous planning are the footprints he leaves behind.

Ally was not only a dedicated principal, but he was also an exceptional role model in how to conduct one’s life with dignity and above all in uncompromising honesty and integrity.

The entire community of Benoni suffered an immeasurable loss from the death of Aziz Ally – a truly unique individual who deserves to have a memorial of recognition in his honour.

May Almighty Allah grant his profound soul a special place in Jannah – a symbol of individual excellence that we will never again witness in our lifetime.
