According to the metro’s spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, waste collection will remain suspended until the situation returns to normality and waste collection officials feel safe.

The Ekurhuleni metro has temporarily suspended waste collection services in the following areas due to riots:

• Daveyton

• Etwatwa

• Actonville

• Wattville

According to the metro’s spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, waste collection will remain suspended until the situation returns to normality, and waste collection officials feel safe.

“Due to riots spilling into other areas on an ongoing basis, other areas not mentioned might also be affected.

“Furthermore, the residents are urged not to vandalise any property or infrastructure, whether private or public, as vandalism of infrastructure is a setback to the quest to develop communities and provide services necessary to build an environment for economic prosperity.”
