Rynfield family thankful for the support of the community
Aurora Wileman was diagnosed with Covid-19.
Rynfield couple Angie Wells and Kyle Wileman are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support received by the Benoni community after their three-week-old daughter was admitted into neonatal ICU at Life The Glynnwood Hospital recently.
She was released from the ICU to continue her recovery process at home.
Aurora Wileman was diagnosed with Covid-19, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), the rhinovirus and bocavirus and immediately put onto a ventilator comprising 100% oxygen.
Angie and two other family members also tested positive for Covid-19 were admitted to the hospital and as a result, Aurora had to fight for her life without physical support from her family.
Hayley Fekete-Farah from Families in Need began a prayer chain on social media, and according to Aurora’s grandmother, Coleen Wileman, they were in absolute awe of how the Benoni community reacted with their many prayers and well wishes.
“There were even two people who selflessly donated items to try to allow the family to connect with Aurora and keep her calm while fighting.
“We would really appreciate a message of thanks to be sent to the Benoni community as a whole, the staff, doctors of the paediatric ward at Netcare Linmed Hospital.
“She is on a nebuliser and gaining her strength daily. We can only attest this to the fact that there are so many people praying for her full recovery,” she said.
While the family is recovering physically from the virus, paying for the medical expenses has become one of their biggest issues, as Kyle recently lost his job as a technician after the security company which was owned by Angie was sold.
Kyle is looking for a job as a technician and is appealing to the Benoni community to assist.
