Sanitary pads donation brings dignity to the learners of Actonville Training Centre

The organisation was founded early this year by friends, Sakhile Mnisi, Mark Khoza and the well-known artist, Tallarsetee.

The members of an NPO, School Tour Campaign, donated sanitary towels to the young girls at the Actonville Training Centre.

This is a school for children with special needs.

The organisation was founded early this year by friends, Sakhile Mnisi, Mark Khoza and the well-known artist, Tallarsetee.

Mnisi said they started the campaign to keep young girls in school because most of them don’t go to school when they have their periods.

“We plan to make this ongoing campaign so we can reach out to all the girls in Daveyton and Benoni. So far we have visited about five schools in both areas,” he said.

“We also encourage others to assist those who are less fortunate especially during these difficult times.”

Actonville Training Centre learners, Angela Sehlabaka (left, 15) and Busisiwe Ngcoboco (15) were thankful for the sanitary pads.

The organisation thanked the school governing body chairperson, Nkosinathi Dlamini, and the school for welcoming them.

The school welcomed the donations and thanked the organisation for choosing their school.
