Eight injured in two Benoni accidents on the weekend

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations on both incidents.

Seven people were hospitalised following a collision between a taxi and a bakkie on March 29 in Bolton Avenue, Benoni.

ER 24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that shortly after midnight, paramedics arrived on the scene to find the bakkie and the taxi on the side of the road. The taxi was against a residence wall.

“Medics assessed the patients seen walking around the scene and found that seven people had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found,” said Meiring.
