Old Bens football to resume

The Old Benonians Football Club is back in action, thanks to Safa giving the go ahead.

They will be holding an online registration and the link will be available on their Facebook and Instagram pages from this week.

“We will also be holding a registration and information session on February 27 for those needing more information from 9am to 11.30am,” said Didri Brits, registrar and secretary of Old Bens.

“Interested players should bring along copies of their birth certificates or ID’s if 17 or older as well as an ID photo.”

Kits will be available for sizing on the day.

Training will begin on March 1.

Junior training sessions are scheduled as follows:

• u-5 and u-6: Mondays and Wednesdays 5.15pm to 6pm

• u-7: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.15pm to 6.15pm

• u-8, u-11, u-12, u-13 and u-17 Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.30pm to 6.30pm

• u-9, u-10 and u-15 Mondays and Wednesdays 5.30 pm to 6.30pm.

“Vets and ladies leagues resume this week,” she said.

The Vets (players aged 35 and older) play on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

“Ladies play on Friday evenings and train on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm.”
