Rainy weather could not stop the Happy Souls Market

Proceeds from the market are used to give back to those in need within the community.

The Happy Soul’s Market was attended by a host of community members on January 31, despite the rainy start.

The market is held every Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Proceeds from the market are used to give back to those in need within the community.

Organiser Trevor Terblanche said this was their fourth market for the year and they ensured that they comply with the level three regulations.

“The market is in an open space. We have controlled entrance and sanitisers to ensure that we practice clean hygiene at all times and I spoke to all the relevant parties to ensure that everything is in order with the regulations,” said Trevor.

“Most of the residents who are stall holders depend on this market because this is how they make their living.

Things have been difficult since the beginning of the pandemic, hence it important to have this market every Saturday.”

Trevor added that they are assisting two homeless shelters and they need 70 beds or steel to make the beds, blankets, pillows and duvet covers for the residents who are living at these two homes.

Anyone who would like to donate to this cause or want to find out more about the market may contact Trevor on 084 060 3233.
