Zayanah recently achieved the Diamond Award and placed 30th in South Africa at the De Beers English Olympiad.

The theme for this year’s competition was gender-based violence in South Africa.

SASDB and CSA&G organisers received several excellent entries and selected 30 entries for the book to be published.

They had to consider the style and tone of the book and selected a diversity of short stories, opinion pieces, essays and poems.

An award ceremony will be hosted in February where every author will receive either a bronze, silver or gold award for their entry.
