Social Club luncheon was a bliss

A Christmas lunch with good food, great friends and some wine can always put a smile on one's face.

The Lakefield Social Club recently held their annual Christmas lunch at the Northmead Bowling Club.

Seventy people attended and enjoyed some good food and wine.

“It was overall a great success,” said David Langly, member of Lakefield Social Club and one of the organisers of the event.

“The food was plentiful and tasty. We had a three course meal consisting of Mock crayfish, gammon, chicken, three vegetables, roast potatoes, rice and gravy and last but not least pudding.”

Father Christmas also paid everyone a visit, handing out chocolates.

“A big thank you to Jimmy Stenhouse for being Father Christmas for the day,” said David.

“The club also thanks Des Day, chairperson of the Northmead Bowling Club, for allowing us to use their venue.”
