Extend a hand to LifeLine

There are many ways to show support for the NPO, which is partially funded by the department of social development

An NPO like LifeLine Ekurhuleni is always in need of sponsorships and community help.
They have a few fund-raisers planned and are appealing for help with these, as well as for their ongoing services and outreach programmes.

The organisation is based in Benoni but services the entire Ekurhuleni region.

Audrey Steyn, acting director, explained many of the people who enable LifeLine to provide services are volunteers, and resources are often stretched to ensure these essential services can be provided.

Some of their projects are funded by the Department of Social Development, such as a victim support project in Duduza, the Ikhaya leThemba Shelter for abused women and children in Braamfontein and an intermediary project for sexually abused children at the Benoni office.

“The public can still assist with donations and get involved with these projects,” Steyn explained.

“We really need support for our counselling outreach project, which covers Ekurhuleni, so donations for this would be most welcome.”

The organisation is planning some events before Christmas, including an intermediary project Christmas party, a quiz night and a pub night.
