Daveyton hip-hop artist encourages others to work hard

The 27-year-old will be releasing his next single Trouble Maker on November

Daveyton rapper Mduduzi Gift Mahlangu, known as Mjay Ranks, aims to contribute his own flavour of hip-hop style to the music industry.

The 27-year-old will be releasing his next single Trouble Maker on November 13.

He said the song was inspired by his surroundings in the township. He also encouraged others to work harder to fulfil their goals.

“I was supposed to release an EP but the equipment in the studio got stolen, hence, I had to start all over again.

There is no set date of when the EP will be ready,” said Mjay.

He added that things were difficult for him as an artist in the beginning of the pandemic as he had to postpone the concert he was planning and as a result there was no income generated.

The up-and-coming rapper released a mixtape titled Dreams and Nightmares in 2012 and in 2018 he released an EP titled King Kong.

He is the founder of Siphesihle Daycare and Resource Centre in Daveyton and he holds health promotion officer and marketing certificates.

The single will be available on all digital platforms.
