Daveyton author is trying to make the world a better place

The 35-year-old said he uses his books to impact, inspire, motivate and transform the world one individual at a time.

Daveyton resident Mthokozisi Nkosi (35) realised his dream is not to work for a boss but to be his own boss.
This inspired him to write a book about comfort.

“When I had a 9am to 5pm job, I noticed that most of my colleagues, myself included, were working at jobs they didn’t enjoy,” he said.

“One day the company decided to retrench them and I saw for the first time in life a 60-year-old man shedding tears, begging me to talk to their superior so they can have their job back.

“Right then and there I knew that was not the person I wanted to become.

“I wrote the book with the aim of helping my readers realise everything they want is outside of their comfort zone. Most importantly, I wanted to be the change I wanted to see in the world, as Mahatma Gandhi asserted.”

The self-published author titled his book: Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone and Start Living Your Dream.
Prior to his job, the motivational teacher was kicked out of his father’s house in 2009.

“He disowned me after I stood up to him. To cut a long story short, I left my father’s house with my bag full of clothes and entered an empty room, with my heart full of hope and being afraid at the same time,” he explained.

“The title of the book started as a Toastmasters speech I delivered at our club. The speech was titled Kicked out of my comfort zone.”

“I began to notice most of my colleagues were too comfortable at their jobs. This was when I had my lightbulb moment and had an idea of writing a book on the subject.”

He said he wants to impact, inspire, motivate and transform the world, one individual at a time.

“I just want to add value in other people’s lives. Most importantly, I’m building a legacy for my two beautiful sons, Lwazi and Bandile, so they can look up to their father as a positive role model and influence in their lives. The genre I focus on is self-help and non-fiction.”

He also has another book entitled Reinvent Yourself and Live Your Dreams, which he wrote when lockdown commenced.

“There are many books I’m still going to write. I have a complete manuscript of a book I’m planning to publish in 2021.

“It is a book on fatherhood, and I’m still polishing the manuscript. Hopefully, I can find a publisher to help me get it out there or if I don’t find one, I’ll go the self-publishing root again.

“My dream is to put men/fathers in one auditorium where I can teach them. It will be an opportunity to sit down and talk about this issue of fatherlessness in our country.”

The Daveyton resident is looking for someone or an organisation to help sponsor this book or the 2021 father’s event.
