Suspects arrested by BFS in and around Benoni

Investigation continues in all cases.

Six people were arrested and six vehicles recovered by the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) over the weekend.

“Four were arrested around North Rand Road, Kempton Park, Esiphetweni Section, Thembisa and Turvey Street, Benoni, after allegedly being found with drugs. Heroine and dagga were confiscated,” said BFS WO Grant Giblin.

“Officers acting upon information arrested two in separate incidents when they were found in possession of hijacked vehicles.

“The first was a white Ford Bantam which was recovered with a suspect on Snake Road and was reported on a Bedfordview case in September this year.

“The second was a silver Audi A4 which was recovered with a suspect on Kingsway Road, Daveyton, and was reported on a Cullinan case.”

Giblin said in further policing, four hijacked vehicles were recovered abandoned:

• A white Kia K2700 in Lindelani informal settlement reported on a Daveyton case.

• A silver Volkswagen Polo in Teanong Section, Thembisa, reported on a Norkem Park case.

• A white Volkswagen Golf in Xhosa Street, Tsakani, reported on a Daveyton case.

• A gold Volkswagen Polo in Emangweni Section, Thembisa, reported on a Thembisa case.

The suspects are expected to appear in the respective local magistrate’s courts to face charges of possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and possession of hijacked vehicles.
