Benoni local makes top 6 for Biogen Fitness Magazine

The winner will be the fitness magazine’s front cover and will receive a grand prize worth R150 000.

Rynfield resident Elouise Dreyer recently made it into the top six finalists for the Biogen Face of Fitness 2020 competition.

“I applied and entered the competition because I feel I have been called to induce a spark of joy in people’s lives,” explained Dreyer.

“I want to leave a positive lasting impression on others and I want women especially to feel they are enough. I chose this competition as my vehicle as I have loved watching the past contestants grow into themselves, especially in their confidence and self-beliefs. I want to embrace that for myself and for other women.”

This fitness fanatic is excited about this opportunity she has been given and couldn’t wait to share her story.

“This competition is so much more than just a face of fitness, it is a tribe of women that reminds others to stop settling and to start living. Once you decide to put an end to your compromises regarding your health and fitness and start showing up 100 per cent for yourself and your goals and put in the work and pursue what you want, only then you will achieve your dreams.”

Dreyer believes she can incorporate the Biogen Face of Fitness brand into her everyday lifestyle by living out the brand daily and spreading the good energy and word of Biogen.

“I want my passion and love for a fit and healthy lifestyle to be infectious and inspirational,” she said.
Dreyer attended Laerskool Kruinsig and then Hoërskool Kempton Park on a scholarship for her running.

“I did long-distance running and cross-country, where I’ve competed at nationals. Just to have a break from the running I did netball as an extra sport,” she explained.

Dreyer now works as a sport conditionist, specialising in children’s conditioning.

Working every day tirelessly for her fitness, Dreyer trains at her fiancé’s fitness centre, MHC Fitness and Sport Rehab Centre in Farrarmere.

“My fiancé, Ruan Röhm, and Angie, train me at the fitness centre with all the other coaches, and their support is fantastic.

“I am so grateful for everyone who believes in and wants the best for me. My family, friends, my MHC fitness family, everyone. I am so blessed and grateful to have you all in my life.”

Dreyer still always finds the time to be healthy and work on her own fitness daily.

“I use Biogen’s products while training and focusing on my training approximately six times a week.

“I am also following a balanced eating plan which is basically my lifestyle.

“I train one to two times a day and focus on one strength and conditioning workout and one conditioning and endurance workout.

“Both my sessions are functional high-intensity interval training (HITT) and I am rather spoilt that my fiancé works with me in my programmes.”

HITT, also called high-intensity intermittent exercise or sprint interval training, is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods, until too exhausted to continue.

Dreyer believes all you need to do to get through your fitness journey is to just be your best and to be authentic.

“We all are such unique women and my intention has always been to strive to be the best version of myself and inspire other women to embrace the same belief system. I am so thankful and grateful to have been given this amazing opportunity to further my passion and I am looking forward to what is coming.”

With over 350 entries, Biogen narrowed down the selections.

I always finish what I start, and I have consistently over the years developed my drive for discipline and dedication. I am fierce and not afraid to push myself to the limit. When you believe you can, you’re already halfway there. You can achieve anything through hard work and consistency.

“I would also like to thank all my sponsors and others who have made my dreams a reality.”

The winner will be announced at the end of November or beginning of December.

The winner will be the Fitness magazine’s front cover, will receive a grand prize worth R150 000 which includes a R30 000 cash prize from the sponsors.

“To other athletes out there, my intention has always been to strive to be the best version of myself and inspire others and other women to embrace the same belief system.

“I want to achieve my goals and I want to motivate and inspire other women to achieve their own goals.

“At the end of the day we are what we repeatedly do and not what we say we will do.

“I want to live honestly and openly in my pursuit of my health and fitness goals and in the process encourage others to join me on the journey.

“I think and know you can do this too,” concluded Dreyer.
