Puppies to benefit from this year’s Christmas Cheer Fund

It’s easy to support the fund – simply visit the SPCA at 3 Klein Street, Lakefield with your donation and fill in the Christmas Cheer Fund book.

The Benoni SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund started on October 12.

This year they want to reach the R100 000 mark to realise a dream of a new puppy nursery kennel block.

The organisation’s chairperson Diane Wooldridge said they the cheer fund raised R45 620 last year, but they want to more than double that this year so that they can fully complete the nursey block.

“We want to install infra-red lighting for warmth and resilient glass partitioning,” said Wooldridge.

“The kennel block will have to be constructed with bricks and to strict specifications and we also want a little play area outside the block under thatch with lots of toys for the pups.”

The Christmas Cheer Fund, which has been running for about 14 years, will close on January 15.

It’s easy to support the fund – simply visit the SPCA at 3 Klein Street, Lakefield with your donation and fill in the Christmas Cheer Fund book.

The City Times will be publishing a list of donations on our website weekly (benonicitytimes.co.za).
