Police have arrested a 57-year-old man for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on September 27 at Chief Albert Luthuli.
Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mopeli said the man was arrested following a fight between him and his son.
“His son called the police and told them about his father’s unlicensed firearm. When police asked him about the firearm he agreed that he had one,” said Mopeli.
“Police then arrested the man when they found that the firearm’s licence had expired.”
The case was opened at the Crystal Park Police Station.
