Wattville residents celebrate Heritage Day through song and dance

The ward-based outreach team from Lethabong clinic offered free health screenings which included a high blood pressure test and Covid-19 education.

Amagugu Enterprise and various organisations came together on September 24 in Wattville to celebrate Heritage Day.

The theme was Ubuntu and was aimed at strengthening the community bond and celebrating the day through song, dance and poetry.

Artists selected to perform at the event were chosen by a panel of judges after artists were encouraged to send a short clip of themselves dancing, singing or reciting poetry.

One of the organisers, Jabulani Tabudi, said they wanted to allow the 18 performers an opportunity to display their craft as artists have not been able to make a living for a few months during lockdown.

Adults and children came together to enjoy the live performances, while lunch was served.
