Long driving is back in Benoni

After a grueling five sets of qualifying rounds, the top six players were announced, with a buy-back-in round provided, to come up with the final top eight.

The GRIDPRO SA Longest Drive competition is in full swing again at the Grasslands driving range, Glengory Road, Vlakfontein Benoni.

A chilly morning accompanied by strong winds made life for some of the top long drivers difficult as they struggled to keep their drives on the 400m by 50m meter grid.

After a grueling five sets of qualifying rounds, the top six players were announced.

“We still needed two more players for top eight, so the ‘buy-back-in’ round saw seven players buy in with only one set each,” said Steven van Zyl.

This meant that only two of the longest drivers would make it.
