SANBS needs your ‘bloody’ commitment

The Benoni SANBS is situated at 42 14th Avenue, Northmead

The SANBS is calling on everyone to celebrate something that everyone has in common, blood.
September brings with it the beginning of spring, which is often symbolic of new life and a new start for people after suffering at the mercy of the cold of winter.

“Coming slowly out of a distressing period brought on by the onslaught of the coronavirus, we look forward to the reprieve promised by warm weather and the opportunity to rebuild our country,” said Terrance Pillay, donor relations practitioner.

“Even as the season changes, the demand for blood and blood products remains. September is also Heritage Month, when our country’s people celebrate their cultural distinctiveness and all the things that make us unique, while embracing the stories that bring us together.”

In the drive to consistently provide safe blood to patients across the country, SANBS appeals to blood donors to continue to make a difference.

Silungile Mlambo, SANBS chief marketing officer, said: “Blood donation is a great way of knowing you may be able to give someone else more time to observe more celebratory day moments with their friends and families.

“We urge you to spare 30 minutes of your time to make a life-saving difference this Heritage Day.”

While you consider your unique celebration of Heritage Day this year, make time for an act of kindness and help SANBS sustain one of our country’s most treasured resources – the nation’s blood supply.

Join the SANBS family of donors dedicated to giving others the gift of life. With one blood donation, you can save a minimum of three lives.
