The City Times is awaiting comment from the metro on when the Bunny Park will officially reopen to the public

Access-controlld parks in Ekurhuleni are open and ready to welcome members of the public, however, the Bunny Park still remains closed.

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said all park-goers can now enjoy the use of the metro’s access-controlled parks.

“However, residents are urged to follow strict Covid-19 regulations of always maintaining a social distance of 1.5m, wearing masks and regularly sanitising or washing hands,” he said.

The access-controlled parks will operate from 6am to 6pm daily.

Gadebe added that security guards at the gate will monitor and manage the number of people entering the parks to avoid overcrowding.

Access-controlled parks opened include:

  • Bulithando Multi-purpose Park
  • Nomathamsanqa Multi-purpose Park
