The Putfontein Police are searching for three men who committed a house robbery on May 26 on Oak Road, Hillrise in Putfontein, at around 11.30pm.
Spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said it is alleged that a 61-year-old man was sleeping when he was woken up by his dog barking outside.
“He then went to check but didn’t see anything,” said Ubisi.
“As he went back to his bedroom, he was accosted by an unknown man who pointed a firearm at him and instructed him to cooperate.”

Ubisi said two more robbers came in and tied the hands and legs of the victim and his wife with a cable.
“They then asked for money and a firearm, they took R1 000 from the wife.”
The alleged suspects brought the mother-in-law and son-in-law, who were sleeping in other rooms, to the bedroom and also tied them up with shoelaces,? he said.
They fled with two bicycles, three motorbikes, a plasma TV, laptop, five cellphones, a PlayStation and a Toyota Hilux bakkie.
The victim was assaulted on his head with a firearm; however, no shots were fired.

The bakkie and three motorbikes were later discovered at an open veld between Mogoba and Mayfield in Putfontein.
Sgt Mabaso, from Etwatwa SAPS, discovered the vehicle.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
