The Beautiful Gardens of Benoni annual event is postponed

The Benoni van Ryn Rotary Anns are changing their 21-year tradition of hosting the popular Beautiful Gardens of Benoni in January by moving the event to spring this year.
According to president Shelley Bent, the hot, dry and windy conditions in October spoiled many gardens and set many gardeners back in their planning and recovery.

“The Benoni van Ryn Rotary Anns, along with our many gardening friends and supporters, are most optimistic that, weather permitting, the gardens will be back to their full glory in spring, around September/October,” she said.
“In the meanwhile, the present rains are a blessing – lets harvest them enjoy and enjoy the transformation they bring to our gardens.
“The Anns are looking forward to this incredibly well-deserved break after 21 years of hosting Beautiful Gardens of Benoni in January, but look out for the event in spring!
“This project is the biggest generator of funds for us and the money is used to fund other projects.”
