The sky is the limit for Lethabo

Lethabo will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in actuarial sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Perseverance, consistency, hard work and dedication were the secret for the Unity Secondary School matriculant, Lethabo Mokholo, who achieved seven distinctions for her matric results.

She received distinctions for English, Sesotho, life orientation, religion studies, mathematics, life science and physical science.

The 18-year-old said she was overwhelmed with excitement after receiving her results and is very proud of herself.

“My family hasn’t stopped telling me how proud they are. I’ve never seen them so happy,” she said.

“Their support and prayers helped me through a lot as it wasn’t an easy year. They even helped me with some of the chores and sending applications.”

The Daveyton resident said it was challenging for her to get disappointing results for a test or exam, but she always made sure that she did better on the next one.

“I am grateful for my mother, Naniki, my sister, Pearl Mokholo, teachers and friends as they all helped me keep my eyes on the prize and to stay focused,” said Mokholo.

“Thank you for the motivation, pep talks and reassurance.”

Mokholo will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in actuarial sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand.

“I’ve always loved mathematics and general problem solving. I feel this career path will allow me to do that daily.”
