A 45-year-old woman was found dead inside a car in an open veld near Pretoria Road, in Vlakfontein, on January 9 at around 3.30pm.
Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Raider Ubisi said police received a complaint about an abandoned car.
“When police arrived at the open veld, they found a silver Chevrolet Spark with no registration number,” said Ubisi.

“The woman was found in the driver’s seat with the car locked and idling and there was a hosepipe running from the exhaust, sealed with tape, through the window, which was also sealed with tape.”
Ubisi said the woman left a note to her family on the dashboard.
Paramedics certified the woman dead on the scene after they broke the window to get her out of the car.
An inquest docket was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.
