A woman believed to be in her 70s was assaulted and robbed at her residence in a townhouse complex in Meta Avenue, Goedeburg, on October 9 at around 1am.
“The victim was asleep in her home when she was awoken by noises,” confirmed Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele.

“She switched on the light and found three suspects wearing balaclavas in her room.
“When she tried to scream she was assaulted with a firearm and made to lie down.
“She was tied up with cable ties and her house was ransacked.
“Jewellery, a television, cash, two cellphones and liquor was stolen.
“The suspects fled the scene and the victim was able to untie herself and get help.
“A case of house robbery is being investigated.”
