Rynpark Open Gardens Day to be held in October

Free entrance applies to children under the age of ten.

The fourth Open Garden Day at Rynpark in Parker Street Rynfield will be held on October 12, between 10am and 4pm.

Offering something for all, garden enthusiasts will be thrilled to view flora beauties which will be on display over a 4.5km walk.

Flowers on show will range from clivias, daisies, phlox and more.

“Visitors can walk around Rynpark 4, 5 and 6 which inter-lead with each other,” said resident Sandra Jakobi.

“There will be a tea garden available in Rynpark 4 at the frail care centre which will be run by the Rotary Anns.

“There will be food, snacks and beverages on sale and available at all the parks.

“We also encourage visitors to make a stop at the community centre in Rynpark 5 to admire the “Made in Rynpark” artistic talents crafted by residents that will be on display.

“Several stalls will be selling handmade articles, food and plants.

“The Benoni High School pipe band and choir, as well as the Tom Newby Primary School marimba band and other schools, will be performing throughout the day.

“Signage will also be up on the day to guide visitors and prizes will be on display and raffle tickers will be sold at the parks.”

A family affair, a fairy garden, hair spray facility and face painting will also be available.

An entrance fee of R30 per person is applicable.
