“Our main priorities for the ward are as follows:

“We need to fight the new rental policy in the rental stock of the municipality and replace it with a more economic rental.

“The hostel needs to be redeveloped into a more humane place to live.

“The re-blocking and electrification in the informal settlements need to be fully implemented.

“The clean-up of the entire ward needs to take place and education programmes concerning illegal dumping needs to be done. Necessary fines also need to be imposed by environmental health.

“Housing is an urgent need, especially for people living in the flats for more than 30 years.

“Crime and drug abuse are a serious problem. This needs a concerted effort by the relevant authorities as well as the community. I will do my utmost to assist in this regard.

“This term is only about 18 months, so we will have to work hard to get all the above done, but I hope that we are able to at least deliver on some.

“I thank my ANC branch for nominating me and I thank all the volunteers and leadership for rallying around to ensure an ANC victory.

“I can be contacted on 082 560 8293 for any service delivery matters.”

According to ANC head of communication and PEC spokesperson for the province Tasneem Motara, since the 2016 local government elections and the 2019 general elections the ANC has embarked on an ambitious programme to win the full confidence of the people of Gauteng through its actions and an activist approach to governance.

“We are confident that comrade Imtiaz Loonat will serve the people diligently.

“The ANC Gauteng Province once again expresses its gratitude to the people of Ekurhuleni for voting ANC.”
