Many join litter clean-up at Homestead
Community members, staff of Mpact Recycling and several schools joined hands to ensure the clean-up, which saw about 100 volunteers, was a success.

The Litter Bugs’ Big Homestead Mandela Day Clean-up had the biggest turnout on July 19 since the inception of the Litter Bugs, which was started in 2015 by Samantha Choles and Anne McLeman.

“Many of us make use of Homestead Dam, whether it’s to walk our dogs, get out and about with our children, run in parkruns on Saturday mornings or enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon picnic,” explained Choles, co-founder of the Litter Bugs who also works with RecyclePaperZA, the paper recycling association of South Africa.

She added that anyone can join the future clean-up initiatives as any help is always appreciated.
Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa Top 25 finalists Davina Moodley (Benoni), Dominique Tibbles (Krugersdorp) and Ekaterini Evangelou (Centurion) also got down and dirty to clean one of Benoni’s prominent landmarks.
