Kids Haven is looking for more friends

The most recent draw took place on May 13.

Kids Haven is still looking for friends to help the organisation to continue to invest in the adults of tomorrow.

Founded by Moira Simpson in 1992 with the intention to help youngsters on the streets, the organisation’s aim has not changed throughout the years, with thousands of children walking through its doors.

While giving these children love may be free, the cost of living is not, and the organisation is in dire need of help from the community to invest in the future of these youngsters through their Be A Friend To Kids Haven programme.

A R100 donation on a monthly basis assists the staff to help the children with daily needs.

All friends who have donated at least R100 regularly for three months are automatically entered into the quarterly draw to win R10 000.

This is the NPO’s special way to say thank you for being a supportive friend.

Every R100 donated gets friends an entry into the lucky draw.

“Our previous chair, Stanley Botopela, of Morehill, came up with the idea to encourage friends to stand with Kids Haven,” said Susan Daly, who is part of the fund-raising team.

“We need this kind of sustained support more than ever.

Companies can also get involved.

“I am happy to meet with groups, book clubs, companies or individuals who want to know more.”

There are three ways to become A Friend of Kids Haven:

• The Debit Order System managed by Clientele Life

• Stop orders, matched giving or monthly EFT payments from their accounts to the Kids Haven account – Nedbank code 198765, account 1948 063 824 in the name of Kids Haven – please reference with your name and surname.

• Monthly recurring payments set up on Payfast via the Kids Haven website https://www.payfast.co.za/donate/go/kidshaven
