Man sentenced for Daveyton murder

The case was investigated by Capt Kenny Mthembu from the SAPS Provincial Taxi Violence Unit.

Bongani Nhlapho was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and 22 years for attempted murder on March 22 at the Pretoria High Court.

On July 20, 2015, the 33-year-old, with his accomplice, shot Andrews Vusi Marivha and three of his friends at a Shisa Nyama at Sgodi in Daveyton.

Marivha died at Philip Moyo Community Health Centre in Etwatwa on the same day and the other three victims survived.

Nhlapho was later arrested in Vaal with the firearm used in the murder.

The case was investigated by Capt Kenny Mthembu from the SAPS Provincial Taxi Violence Unit.

Nhlapho’s accomplice is still on the run.
