Police appeal for information about foiled Daveyton ATM bombing

The incident was initially not reported.

The Daveyton police are appealing for information about an ATM bombing that took place on the corner of Mocke and Eiselen streets, Daveyton, in the early hours of April 17.

According to Ekurhuleni North district spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele, the ATM bombing took place at around 12.30am, but was not reported to the authorities until an ATM solutions technician went to assess the machine.

“The technician went to assess the ATM after reports that it was out of order,” explained Sekele.

“When he arrived he discovered the ATM had been bombed.

“He then alerted the bank and they reported the matter.

“No cash was stolen, but the machine is damaged.”
