Brentwood Park couple celebrate 60 years of marriage
The couple met in Johannesburg in 1957 and got married in 1959, they have three daughters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The secret to a successful marriage is accepting your partner and accepting that you both have different characters, this is the advice given by Brentwood Park residents Philip (80) and Nancy (79) Nel at their 60th wedding anniversary lunch recently.
Daughter Amanda Coetzee said: “They are very loving, caring and supportive parents who taught us good values, like family is everything not materialistic goods or money.

“They always stayed committed and worked on their marriage on a daily basis.”
Philip said God’s blessings, acceptance and commitment are why they have been together for 60 years.
