Reaction to BCT article about my son’s book hit me for six

I am writing this letter to extend my gratitude to the Benoni City Times and sports journalist Logan Green.

‘Grateful mother’ Mpumi Sithebe, Rynfield, writes:

My name is Mpumi Sithebe, the mother of Owam Sithebe whose story appeared in the Benoni City Times dated February 1 about a book he has written about my battle with stage four cancer.

I am writing this letter to extend my gratitude to the Benoni City Times and sports journalist Logan Green.

The article reached a number of readers who cannot wait to get a copy of the book.

Since the article, a company called Ace7Sports, which deals in cricket equipment and kits, has come forward and offered to sponsor Owam with all his cricket kit and equipment.

He is now a proud owner of SF cricket branded apparel.

Thank you so much to Ace7Sports, your sponsorship will not go to waste as Owam takes his cricket seriously.

Owam’s book, How I Took Cancer’s Wicket for my Mom, will be launched at the University of Johannesburg on April 12 from 9am to 1pm at the Chinua Achebe Auditorium.

Please come out and support, Benonians.

Please send me an email to RSVP to the launch or to order a copy of the book at mpumi.sithebe09@gmail.com

I am also on Facebook as ‘Mpumi Sithebe’.

Thank you again Benoni City Times and Ace7Sports for supporting Owam.
