Life’s a breeze at annual Benoni Sailing Club Regatta
The boats on the water were a treat to behold.
Benoni Sailing Club held a successful annual Open Regatta and Junior Cup on the weekend of February 23 and 24 on Homestead Dam.
The regatta was open to all dinghy classes.
The event enjoyed a terrific turnout of 44 boats from six sailing clubs.
Strong and shifty winds gusting at 16 knots were experienced on the first day while lighter winds were experienced on the second day.
Results from the regatta are:
• Senior fleet of Lasers: 1 S Nel, 2 C Whitburn, 3 GH Hanson.
• Fleet of GP14s: 1 M Biagio, 2 P Clayton, 3 G Weeks.
• Junior fleet of Dabchicks: 1 K Nel, 2 D Hawksworth.
• Optimist class: 1 A Stanley.
