Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona confirmed a Grade 12 learner collapsed during physical training at Liverpool Secondary School in Actonville earlier today.
“Unfortunately the learner was certified dead,” said Mabona.
“MEC (for education) Panyaza Lesufi visited the school to convey his condolences to the school and family.
“Our psycho-unit team will be dispatched to the school tomorrow for necessary counselling.”
