Several arrests made by the BFS

The investigation continues in all cases.

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) wasted no time in making four arrests in Benoni, and two in Kempton Park, recently.

“In Benoni, members responding to a complaint, arrested two suspects in Elston Avenue who were wanted on three cases of theft of diesel and cell phones around Benoni, Boksburg North and Vosloorus,” said BFS spokesperson, W/O Grant Giblin.

“Members in Daveyton in separate cases arrested two suspects in Tolo and Ngobeni streets allegedly wanted on charges of assault.”

In Kempton Park, members arrested one suspect on the corner of Oak and West streets after allegedly being found in possession of nyaope.

Another suspect was arrested at Festival Mall after allegedly attempting to steal a speaker from a music store.

Giblin said two motor vehicles were recovered abandoned in Tembisa, a white Toyota Siyaya Hilux in Kanana Section, Phomolong, reported stolen at Mamelodi East, and a white Nissan NP200 Bakkie at Endayeni Section reported stolen at Tembisa.

A white trailer reported hijacked in Devon was recovered abandoned in Mailula, Vosloorus.

Members of the community are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or any information to their local police station or contact 10111.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 59, will be appearing in the local magistrate’s court facing charges of possession of drugs, shoplifting, theft and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
