Monkey caught in Benoni

Another monkey has been spotted in Morehill and South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is waiting for a confirmed sighting before they set up a trap to catch the monkey.

A vervet monkey that has been roaming the Benoni area for about three weeks has been caught by South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, this according to one of their workers.

The worker said unhappy residents in the area have been making threats to shoot the monkey and they (South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center) have been chasing the female monkey across properties, while dogs were going crazy at the sight of the animal.

The worker stated a trap was set up and the vervet was safely caught.
