A man was arrested by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) on January 4 on the charges of being in possession of Cat (methcathinone) and resisting arrest in Actonville.
“A foreign national was arrested in Actonville by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members when he was found in possession of six ziplock bags of Cat valued at R1 000,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“The suspect – a repeat offender arrested in September 2018 for a similar offence – was arrested in Kohinoor Street after a protracted struggle ensued in an effort to subdue him, as he was resisting arrest.”
He is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
