Benoni girl (8) scoops runner-up position at Dream Ambassador competition

Riyanka said Yaadavi had a lot of fun and enjoyed herself thoroughly.

Rynfield resident Yaadavi Raganan Bedassi (8) represented Gauteng at the South African Dream Ambassador 2018 competition and the youngster bagged first runner-up.

The competition, which took place recently in Bloemfontein, saw a total of 50 contestants – boys and girls – with ages ranging from five years to 42 years.

According to Yaadavi’s mother, Riyanka Raganan Bedassi, this was the first-ever open-age-category competition.

“The judging criteria consisted of an interview section, stage performance, evening ramp and on-stage question (only for the top 10),” she said.

“Out of the 50 contestants she scored the highest from all the girls.

“She rocked that stage with confidence.

“We are very proud of what she has achieved at such a young age and for being so brave to want to compete against older people.”
