Police on manhunt for Putfontein robbery suspects

A case of murder and business robbery was opened at the Putfontein SAPS.

Police have launched a manhunt for five armed men after a local businessman was shot at one of his businesses on November 29 at Mogaba in Putfontein around 7.30pm.

Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said it is alleged five armed men entered the deceased’s store and one of the men shot him in the upper body.

Sekele said the 60-year-old was with his wife during the incident, but she was not injured.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and groceries.

The man was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A case of murder and business robbery was opened at the Putfontein SAPS.

The police appeal to anyone with information to come forward or contact the Putfontein SAPS on 011 845 6315 or Crimestop on 10111.
