“The officers were shocked to find a man tied up and with evidence of having been badly assaulted and locked up at the back of the Hyundai.
“The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were arrested and an ambulance was called for the injured man.”
Kgasago said the injured man who struggled to breathe, and with a swollen face, related his scary ordeal he claimed took place two weeks ago when he and his wife were hijacked in Fordsburg.
“The victim further claimed that he had been kept captive in some building since the hijacking,” Kgasago said.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the case was registered at Johannesburg Central Police Station.”
Upon investigation, the metro police found the vehicle to be registered to an Ethiopian national who resides at Odendaalsrus in the Free State province.
After formalities were completed at Brakpan Police Station, the suspects aged 27 and 30, were taken to the SAPS Brixton Flying Squad offices.
“In-depth investigations are underway to unravel the mysteries of this case,” Kgasago said.
