Ralph loves animals, finds niche at SPCA

To date, the cadet inspector has been involved in numerous confiscations but has not yet been a part of a conviction of those facing charges of animal cruelty.

The Benoni SPCA recently welcomed a new cadet inspector to their team.

Ralph Chivaviro has his roots in animal care and protection firmly planted with the SPCA as he was a volunteer in his youth, in 1988 to be exact, at a Zimbabwean SPCA.

His work, primarily voluntary previously, has inspired him to further his study and is currently studying towards becoming a qualified inspector.

“I have an undying love for animals so this profession was undoubtedly a calling,” said Chivaviro.

“I want to make a positive difference and educate people about the responsibilities that come with owning pets by enforcing the law, bringing criminals to justice and rescuing the victims (animals) from cruelty.”

When asked about his future plans, Chivaviro stated he wants to study animal health and to grow within the SPCA organisation.
