Police arrest one for stolen revolver

He is expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.

EMPD Public Order Policing Task Team members and the SAPS Crime Intelligence Ekurhuleni East Cluster joined forces recently to arrest one suspect and recover a stolen revolver.

“The suspect’s place on Malata Street, Extension 21 in Etwatwa was raided at midnight and the stolen Taurus revolver with eight live rounds of ammunition was recovered,” said Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago.

“The revolver’s serial numbers were still intact.”

According to Kgasago, the revolver was stolen in March in Mpumalanga.

The 45-year-old man was arrested and detained at Etwatwa Police Station for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
