Benoni Northerns Indians Ball Club had their annual senior baseball prize giving ceremony on September 7 following the recently concluded Gauteng winter season.
The club ran four senior sides during winter which is, according to senior club chairman Grant Sayers, a good thing for the club.
“It was a pretty good season for the club as a whole,” said Sayers.
“We had two league winners (the Major B ‘Wichita’ and Senior Reserves ‘Sioux’ sides) and a lot of second place finishes in the cup, which we won’t talk about because it still burns,” he joked.

• Major A ‘Chippewa’:
Best Batter: Rowan Ebersohn
Best Pitcher: Rowan Ebersohn
Best Fielder: Anthony Sayers
Players’ Choice: Anthony Sayers
Most Valuable Player: Rowan Ebersohn.
• Major B ‘Wichita’:
Best Batter: Anthony Cogill
Best Pitcher: Alex Howden
Best Fielder: Shaun Deyzel
Players Choice: Jason Keen
Most Valuable Player: Jacques Groenewald.
• Senior Reserves ‘Sioux’:
Best Batter: Bruce Burrage
Best Pitcher: Shawn Schwartz
Best Fielder: Colin Sampson
Players’ Choice: Shawn Schwartz

• Minors ‘Mohicans’:
