Express your love for Benoni in the Northmead Square School Art Competition

Entries will be judged by a prestigious panel, including members of the Benoni Art Association, the City Times and Northmead Square management.

Learners with a flair for art and a love for Benoni have the opportunity to showcase this in the Northmead Square School Art Competition 2018.

Marketing manager Sharné Bodenstein said she is excited about the theme, “My Benoni”, and the judges will be looking for the most inspired reflections of the town and its heritage.

Entries must incorporate the Northmead Square logo and slogan, “more of what you love”.

“We encourage entrants to do some research on Benoni’s history and to find out more about Northmead Square and its tenants by visiting our website, www.northmeadsquare.co.za, and Facebook page, or even visiting the centre for some inspiration,” Sharné said.

“The success of an artwork will be measured on creativity, as well as the way the learner incorporates our shopping centre into their work.”

“The top three entries in each category will be exhibited at the square from November 2 to 9 where the public will be able to vote for their favourite,” Sharné said.

Winners will receive prizes to the value of R2 000 each and their artwork will be published in the City Times.

There is also a prize for the school with the most entries.

The categories are: Primary school (ages six to seven, eight to nine, 10 to 11 and 12 to 13) and high school (ages 14 to 15, 16 to 17 and 18 to 19).

Any learner in these age categories at any educational facility, including home schools, can enter.

Entries close on October 26.
