Roadworks on Pretoria Road to be completed in two weeks
Extension set for roadworks on Pretoria Road
The deadline for the completion of the roadworks on Pretoria Road was September 7.
According to the contractor, who would like to remain anonymous, they have asked for an extension.
He said the roadworks should be complete in the next two weeks, weather permitting.

He confirmed that he had received all material and that workers are working tirelessly to get the job done.
In a previous article published in the August 31 edition of the City Times, Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said: “Due to some stoppage caused by the local emerging contractor, the contract duration has been extended to September 7.”
“Delays in the road being completed is due to strikes from contractors.”
Gadebe said due to contractors not being able to provide construction materials as promised, it was decided that the main contractor provide their own construction plant and purchase all the required construction materials.
